Ongoing, or “progressive”, inspections are often required to verify code compliance on large projects. Your inspector will be able to give you a better idea of needed inspection frequency once the inspector knows your proposed schedule and methods of execution. GENERAL
______ FOOTING a. Traditional- Following excavation and forming and prior to pouring concrete. b. Prefab Wall- Following excavation and prior to placing stone.
______ FOUNDATION Following completion of foundation (including parging, damp proofing/waterproofing, installation of anchors) and prior to backfill and/or framing. Masonry buildings will require an extended foundation inspection series to verify placement of material, reinforcement, grout, lintel, bearing plate, bond beam, etc.
______ FRAMING Following complete framing, rough plumbing, rough electrical, rough mechanical rough sprinkler and prior to installing insulation or covering.
______ INSULATION Following installation of insulating material and prior to covering.
______DRYWALL a. Fire Separation type walls- During installation, as required, to verify construction meeting a “UL” design for the required rating. b. Regular Wall Covering- Inspection(s) as necessary to verify correct nailing and taping.
______ FINAL Following completion of all construction trades and prior to receiving certificate of occupancy. Use or Occupancy of any type is not authorized until after Certificate is issued.
ELECTRICAL
______ELECTRICAL SERVICE Following installation of service equipment and entrance conductors and prior to utility connection.
______ELECTRICAL ROUGH WIRING Following installation of all conductors, outlets, etc. and prior to covering.

______ PLUMBING ROUGH IN Following installation of all drains, wastes, vents, water distribution, and mechanical systems and prior to covering.

MECHANICAL
______MECHANICAL UNDER SLAB Following installation of ducts and piping and prior to covering.
______ MECHANICAL ROUGH IN Following installation of all ducts, piping systems and mechanical systems and prior to covering.
______ MECHANICAL FINAL Following completed installation of all related equipment and prior to occupancy
SPRINKLER
______SPRINKLER UNDER SLAB Following installation of sprinkler service piping and thrust block, and prior to covering.
______ SPRINKLER ROUGH IN Following installation of all distribution, branch piping and standpipes. Sprinkler systems shall be tested in accordance with NFPA 13 (200# for 2 hours) and tests shall be scheduled 48 hours in advance.
______ SPRINKLER FINAL Following completed installation of all related equipment and prior to occupancy.

Those inspection annotated with a check mark are required inspection for the work permitted. Annotated inspections may be waived or additional inspections may be required, at the discretion of the Code Official, as deemed necessary in order to insure Code Compliance. Inspection approval must be obtained for the work currently complete before proceeding to the next step of construction listed in order for each trade.
All inspections will be conducted by Commonwealth Code Inspection Service, Inc. The applicant or authorized representative must request all inspections directly through Commonwealth Code Inspection Service, Inc. with at least 48 hours notices at (800) 732-0043. |
