I want to build:

A new house…..

 

1.        Contact SEO to have perc testing done

2.        Sewage Facilities Planning if property is subdivided or second dwelling on the same property.

3.        Obtain a sewage system design. Obtain a septic permit.

4.        If planning and zoning exist, apply for and obtain necessary approvals.

5.        Obtain driveway entry permit.

6.        Obtain a municipal land use permit [or equivalent].

7.        Municipal Sewer – Planning, tap fees, and commitment to hook up guaranteeing capacity.

8.        Municipal Water – Planning, tap fees, and commitment to hook up guaranteeing capacity.

9.        Prepare design of structure; including plot plan, cross sectional views, floor plan, and other pertinent details.

10.     Complete building permit application; submit 3 copies to CCIS along with 3 copies of the plans for review.

11.     Plan Review – Successful; permit issued

   Unsuccessful; permit denied, list of corrections sent to applicant.

12.     Permit issued – a list of the required inspections is attached to the permit along with any special considerations or conditions.

13.     Applicant contacts CCIS Inspector for all inspections. Work is not to go beyond any indicated inspection without first obtaining the required inspection.

14.     Upon completion and after successful final inspection CCIS issues a Certificate of Occupancy.

15.     C.O. is taken by applicant to the municipality, and if all other land use conditions are met, applicant receives a Certificate of Land Use Occupancy or its equivalent.

16.     Applicant may now legally occupy structure.
